If you thought it was too early for this game to go on sale, guess again. Woot! (owned by Amazon) is offering The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for Nintendo Switch for only $51.99. This is a good deal only if you’re an Amazon Prime member because you get free shipping. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay an additional $6 for shipping, which makes it just a few dollars cheaper than buying it elsewhere.
This is a physical copy and includes a 90-day Woot! warranty. Woot! mentions that copies may or may not be imported, but all Nintendo Switch games are region-free so you’ll be able to play the game regardless. Also, you won’t have to worry about language either, since that setting is determined by your Switch console.
Check out our The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom review and see why this game earned an “Amazing” 9/10 score. In it, writer Tom Marks states “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is far greater than a gimmicky spinoff led by Zelda instead of Link. Its echo summoning is a clever concept used to combine the expertly crafted dungeons, puzzle rooms, and item progression you’d expect from a classic-style 2D Zelda with the borderline unhinged freedom provided by Tears of the Kingdom. This experiment doesn’t produce an entirely perfect result, with a little bit of clunky menu management and combat that simply isn’t quite as compelling, but it’s an impressively successful one all the same. Echoes of Wisdom is also a glowing proof of concept for how a modern 3D Zelda could recapture some of what fans like me miss about the series before Breath of the Wild without sacrificing the intoxicating creativity it introduced. Creating echoes aside, if this is the future of Zelda, I can’t wait to see more.”

If you haven’t picked up a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you now have more places to buy it from. The brand-new Switch exclusive wasn’t available to preorder at Walmart or Amazon, but it’s finally available at both retailers. Walmart has Echoes of Wisdom online and in stores. Amazon’s listing(s), meanwhile, are for imported, region-free editions. At the moment, the online retailer doesn’t stock Nintendo’s releases in North America. But Amazon has made the prospect of buying an imported game, in this case from its official UK Global Store, a bit more enticing by offering a 10% discount on Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
In addition to Walmart, Echoes of Wisdom is available for $60 at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. All of those retailers will send you the North American physical edition, while Amazon will shave your total price down to $54 for the UK edition.
Amazon US does not officially have Echoes of Wisdom, but Amazon UK does. Thanks to Amazon’s. UK Global Store, you can purchase the import just like you would any other item. The Switch isn’t a region-locked console, so games from other regions work the same (as long as they support English). The only difference you’ll see is the rating boards logo in the lower left-hand corner on the box.
At the moment, Amazon has two listings, one of which is shipped and sold by Amazon’s UK Global Store. You’ll get free shipping and save some cash in the process, as the UK edition is going for $54.24. You’ll still be backed by Amazon’s return policy, and customer service is provided by Amazon US.
If Amazon sells out of that one, the second listing has Echoes of Wisdom listed for $58.
Nintendo released a limited-edition Switch Lite to commemorate the launch of Echoes of Wisdom.
The Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite is available at Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. It doesn’t come with the game, so you’ll need to buy a copy separately. But you are getting one-year of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which normally costs $50. You’re essentially getting the membership for $10.
The limited-edition console features a gold color scheme with black accents and has the Hylian Crest on the back. It also has a small Triforce beneath the right thumbstick.
With your Switch Online membership, you’ll be able to play a wide assortment of The Legend of Zelda games on this appropriately themed console. With Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you’ll gain access to over 100 of the best games for SNES, NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 64.
The Switch Online retro libraries include a bunch of Zelda games to play on your shiny new gold handheld:
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
Zelda II: Link’s Adventure (NES)
A Link to the Past (SNES)
Ocarina of Time (N64)
Majora’s Mask (N64)
Link’s Awakening DX (GBC)
Oracle of Ages (GBC)
Oracle of Seasons (GBC)
The Minish Cap (GBA)
A Link to the Past and Four Swords (GBA)
The Hyrule Edition is arguably the best Switch Lite “deal” right now, but it’s also worth noting Target still has its exclusive Switch Lite bundle featuring an Animal Crossing-themed console and a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for $200. And if you want to play Zelda on your TV, the Mario Red Nintendo Switch OLED is discounted to its best price yet at Amazon.
Echoes of Wisdom is a pivotal entry in the beloved Nintendo franchise. For the first time in the franchise’s nearly 40-year history, the namesake steps. into the leading role. Well, it’s not technically the first time Zelda has been playable, but Nintendo would probably want fans to forget Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and Zelda’s Adventure, two infamous Philips CD-i games, exist at all.
Thankfully, Echoes of Wisdom is a triumph, an inventive combination of modern and classic Zelda formulas. The sprawling top-down adventure features traditional dungeons of old while giving players the freedom to approach puzzles in many different ways. For more on how Zelda’s debut adventure succeeds, check out our 9/10 The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Echoes of Wisdom is the fifth(!) mainline Zelda game to receive a physical release on Switch, and you can save big on a few of Link’s adventures, too.

The Nintendo Museum is preparing to open in Kyoto, Japan, and it looks to be an incredible collection of Nintendo ephemera. But it is also, perhaps inadvertently, a way to settle age-old internet disputes, and it has already supplied a definitive answer to the question: Is Yoshi’s Island (aka Super Mario World 2) a Yoshi game or a Mario game?
According to Dan Ryckert’s impressions from a special press preview of the museum, one exhibition room has space dedicated to specific franchises, separated into individual categories. The Mario franchise display was by far the largest, encompassing not just the plumber’s solo adventures but also the various spin-offs like kart racers and sports games. But he also noticed that Yoshi’s Island is not actually in the Mario display, and is rather included in a separate Yoshi franchise display.
So there you have it. According to Nintendo’s official categorization, in a space dedicated to careful cultivation of its own history, Yoshi’s Island is not a Mario game. If you had $20 riding on this very unlikely bet, now is your time to collect.
Granted, Ryckert also vowed to incessantly bother his Nintendo contacts until this so-called mistake is rectified, and we wouldn’t underestimate his ability to annoy anyone into compliance. So it’s very possible that Nintendo will recategorize, or just include Yoshi’s Island in both franchises, as space allows.
Yoshi’s Island stars Yoshi (or a series of Yoshis) as they ferry a baby Mario across colorful islands. It’s available as part of the Super NES library on the Nintendo Switch Online service, so you can play it there to judge for yourself which franchise it best fits into.
Woot is offering big discounts on some of the most popular Nintendo Switch games, making this a great time to pick up titles you may have missed over the past few years. Note that some Switch games offered by Woot are region-free imports–so while the ratings board logo on the box might look different, they’ll still run just fine on your console and function as if you bought them at your local retailer. Woot doesn’t explicitly state which games are imports, but as long as that possibility doesn’t bother you, you can get some Switch games for their lowest prices yet with Prime shipping.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is currently available for its lowest price yet, as Woot is listing it for just $45 (was $70). That’s a remarkable price for one of the best games of 2023–and if it’s not yet part of your collection, now is the time to pick it up. Still haven’t got around to playing Breath of the Wild? Then consider buying it now for just $40 (was $60).
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is also down to its best price yet since launching earlier this year. You can grab the enhanced version of the GameCube classic for $45 (was $60). Our Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review gave it an impressive 9/10 due to its fun turn-based combat system and hilarious writing, making it a great investment now that it’s on sale. For a revamped classic RPG that’s even more affordable, you’ll find Super Mario RPG down to its best price yet at $32 (was $60).
Other notable deals include the recently released Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD for $45 (was $60), Princess Peach: Showtime for $45 (was $60), and Super Mario Bros. Wonder for $45 (was $60). The first two are especially enticing, as once again these are the lowest-ever prices for the hit games. Woot is likely to run out of inventory on some of these better deals, so swing by the retailer and cash in while you can.
The above games aren’t the only great Switch deals available right now, as you’ll also find the Nintendo Switch OLED Model (Mario Red Edition) for $295 (was $350). This deal varies by region, so not every shopper will be eligible for the savings. But if you are, this is hard to pass up, as it’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen for the device.
Thronefall will leave Steam Early Access on October 11 for the full release of the minimalist strategy game. But that’s not all. Along with that launch, Thronefall will also arrive on Nintendo Switch at the same time.
Developer Grizzly Games highlighted that Thronefall has already sold just under 1 million copies on Steam since hitting Early Access in August 2023. On top of that, the strategy game also sports an Overwhelmingly Positive status on the storefront with over 14,500 reviews.
The full release brings three new levels–Moorweg, Freifort, and Totend–to Thronefall that include new enemies and boss fights. That means there are now 10 levels in the strategy game, with the campaign taking most players 8-12 hours, per Grizzly Games. This update also offers new equipment and quality-of-life improvements.
In addition to the campaign, there is a roguelike mode in Thronefall, too. The game sees players building their bases and armies during the day and then taking on hordes of enemies at nightfall. Grizzly notes that players can also charge into the conflicts themselves, if they so wish. Successfully surviving the darkness and baddies leads to the ability to pick out new weapons and perks.
Although not as well known as Anker, Baseus power banks are getting very popular on Amazon with plenty of positive reviews. They’re also a lot less expensive than Anker power banks. Today, Amazon is offering the Baseus 20,000mAh 65W Power Bank for only $33.59 after triple savings: a $20 instant discount, a 30% off clippable coupon, and a 14% off coupon code 88SG7TC4 that you apply during checkout. This is an outstanding price for a power bank that features a spacious 20,000mAh capacity and a hefty 65W of charging output. It can fast charge the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and ASUS ROG Ally all at their maximum charging rates.
The Baseus power bank measures 6″x2.55″x1″ and weighs in at just under 1lb. That’s lighter than most other power banks with the same capacity. It has a total of four ports: one USB Type-C capable of 65W input and output, two USB Type-A capable of 30W output each, and a Micro USB that serves as a backup input. The Basues also has some extra features you’d normally only find on premium power banks, like a LCD digital readout which displays a lot of useful real-time information like remaining battery capacity, power input, and power output from each port.
The Baseus power bank is a great Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck charger
The Baseus Power Bank is an outstanding charger for handheld gaming consoles like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and Switch. Both the ROG Ally and Steam Deck suffer from a short battery life when gaming on the go. During our Steam Deck review, we found games like God of War or Spider-Man would tap out in under two hours. At the end of the day, you’ll never get the full potential out of your Steam Deck or ROG Ally if you’re not equipped with a decent portable charger.
The Steam Deck accepts up to 38W of USB Power Delivery, ASUS ROG Ally accepts up to 65W, and the Nintendo Switch up to 18W. That means the Baseus power bank can charge a Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, and Nintendo Switch all at their maximum charging rate, especially if you use the USB Type-C port. The 20,000mAh battery capacity means that you’ll be able to keep your console topped off for several hours, more than enough for even the longest flights.
The Baseus power bank is TSA-approved
TSA requires that power banks be in carry-on bags only (they are not allowed in check-in luggage). Power banks must also be under 27,000mAh or 100Whr in capacity. The Baseus power bank’s 20,000mAh capacity is well under TSA’s 27,000mAh 100Whr limit so it can be brought onto airplanes without worry. If a TSA official actually does take the initiative to test the wattage on your power bank, you’re well in the clear.

This deal comes just before next month’s launch of Black Ops 6, but there’s never been a better time to pick up MWIII if you haven’t yet. With the unveiling of the PlayStation 5 Pro and rumors that the long-anticipated Nintendo Switch successor and Xbox Series S | X follow-up are just around the corner, now seems like the perfect time to take a closer look at the future of these companies and console gaming as a whole.
In this week’s episode of Spot On, Tam and Lucy sit down to do precisely that, discussing not only their thoughts on the companies current trajectories, but what public opinion seems to be as well. Is the PlayStation 5’s $700 price tag an indication of what consoles will soon cost? Are the ROG Ally and Steam Deck reasons for Nintendo to be concerned about the success of its next console? And which company is more likely to release a console with a new “gimmick” if the Switch 2 forgoes introducing a new feature? The pair tackle all these questions and more as they speculate what the future of console gaming looks like.
Spot On is a weekly news show airing Fridays in which GameSpot’s managing editor Tamoor Hussain and senior producer Lucy James talk about the latest news in games. Given the highly dynamic and never-ending news cycle of the massive video game industry, there’s always something to talk about but, unlike most other news shows, Spot On will dive deep into a single topic as opposed to recapping all the news. Spot On airs each Friday.
Lately, Nintendo seems to act like it’s a secret to everybody about who is actually making a game. In fact, there is still no official confirmation for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s developer, even though it comes out next week. But, a new report points to a familiar name working on the game.
According to Eurogamer, Grezzo is apparently the studio behind The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This was reportedly spotted by people who have preordered the Switch exclusive, like Naruki on X. Previously, the developer worked on The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Grezzo also has created games outside the Zelda franchise, such as Ever Oasis on 3DS and Jet Dragon on iOS.
Additionally, Nintendo was cagey about who would voice Mario in last year’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder after longtime voice actor Charles Martinet was revealed to not be behind the role. Nintendo basically told everyone to read the game’s credits after it was released.
The official store page for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom only shows Nintendo as publisher, without a developer. The Switch exclusive doesn’t launch until September 26; however, the ROM has reportedly leaked.
