As part of a joke that is perhaps going too far, the markedly terrible Cory in the House game is not only closely trailing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in user ratings, but sealed copies of it are priced for hundreds of dollars online.
There are numerous listings for the Nintendo DS game on eBay, with prices ranging from $50 to $1,420.69 (har, har). One listing even has 44 bids and currently prices the game at $1,025.00.
This bizarre event appears to stem from the Best Games by User Score list of GameSpot sister site Metacritic, which currently has 2025 Game of the Year winner Clair Obscur sitting at the top with a 9.6 user score. But because the internet loves a good gag, Cory in the House has recently surfaced as the runner-up with a score of 9.3, tied with The Witcher 3, two versions of Metal Gear Solid 3, the original Silent Hill 2, and a couple of other classics.
Listings on eBay have Cory in the House selling for hundreds of dollars.
Released in 2008, a year that graced us with Grand Theft Auto 4, Fallout 3, and Dead Space, Cory in the House is based on the Disney Channel show of the same name.
Players fill the shoes of Cory Baxter from the classic kid-friendly sitcom That’s So Raven, whose father works as the White House head chef. The handheld game’s epic tale follows Cory as he fights an evil toymaker who threatens to hypnotize the people of Washington, D.C. with modified bobbleheads depicting the President of the United States.
There’s no telling if people will actually purchase copies of this notorious game at absurdly high prices, or if Metacritic will intervene and put an end to this Cory-mentum. For now, we can sit back and see how much higher the numbers can get.
Switch 2 owners, if there’s one upgrade you’ll absolutely need, it’s additional storage. The Switch 2 only has 256GB of onboard storage, and chances are you’ll run out of space down the road. Fortunately, Amazon just lowered the price of the 256GB Samsung P9 MicroSD Express card, which will double your available storage, to just $34.99. This matches the best deal that I saw during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. You don’t have to worry about performance, either. We recently reviewed this exact card and strongly recommend it.
As you should already know, the Switch 2 console will only accept MicroSD Express cards. If you have a standard MicroSD card from your previous Switch, you sadly won’t be able to use it to store games in the Switch 2. Although the two might look similar, MicroSD Express cards are much, much faster than their precedessors, with speeds of up to 800MB/s. MicroSD cards, on the other hand, cap out at well under 200MB/s.
This Samsung P9 Express is guaranteed to be compatible with your Switch 2 console. In fact, Samsung is the company that manufactures Nintendo’s official Switch 2 memory card. It’s very likely these two cards are identical.

High on Life 2, the sequel to Squanch Games’ FPS with foul-mouthed weapons, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. After much fan speculation and rumors, a Switch 2 port has been confirmed for April 20. The physical edition for Switch 2 is available to preorder now for $60 at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. High on Life 2’s digital editions are currently slated to launch February 13 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Unfortunately, the physical edition for PlayStation 5 has been pushed back and will now launch alongside the Switch 2 version in April.
While you wait for the sequel to arrive, you can catch up or revisit the first game by picking up High on Life’s “Game of the Year Edition” for Nintendo Switch when it arrives at Amazon on January 23. Limited Run Games also just announced a physical edition of High on Life for Switch 2. If you’d rather not wait, you can snag the Switch edition and immediately upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free. The Switch 2 Upgrade Pack offers marked performance boosts and visual enhancements.

All High on Life 2 preorders come with a visor skin that can be worn by a handful of the game’s talking weapons. Since this is the High on Life franchise we’re talking about here, the visor has the following text printed on the front: “I PRE-ORDERED HIGH ON LIFE 2.”
Preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 physical editions from GameStop include an exclusive steelbook case while supplies last. The steelbook’s artwork mirrors the standard game box’s cover. If you preorder online, you will need to print your order confirmation page and visit a GameStop in your area to pick it up on launch day–if it’s available, that is. GameStop’s freebies typically disappear fast.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of High on Life 2 is a Game-Key Card edition, which means you’ll need to download the full game before playing for the first time. This also means it’s likely to consume a decent chunk of storage space. For reference, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the first game is just over 30GB–and the sequel will likely be larger.
We’ll update this story when High on Life 2’s file size is confirmed. In the meantime, if you don’t yet own a microSD Express, check out the Samsung P9 256GB microSD Express for $35 (was $55) to double your storage space for cheap.
Performance benchmarks haven’t been revealed yet, but the original High on Life is quite good on Switch 2. It features higher resolutions, better and more consistent frame rates, crisper textures, better lighting, and more welcome features.
High on Life 2 for PS5 is available to preorder at multiple major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop.
The initial batch of physical copies for PS5 were sold directly from Limited Run Games until October 2025. Limited Run also had a physical edition for Xbox Series X as well as a $180 Collector’s Edition for consoles and PC.
Limited Run Games closed preorders on High on Life’s “Game of the Year Edition” for Switch last May, and these days it sells for above MSRP on marketplaces such as eBay. As such, anyone who is interested in owning a physical copy of High on Life for Switch should secure a preorder from Amazon ahead of its January 23 retail launch.
High on Life’s physical edition includes the base game and the High on Knife paid DLC. You can claim the High on Life Switch 2 Upgrade Pack for free on the eShop. The upgrade targets 1080p resolution at 30fps in docked mode and improves practically all areas of the game from a visual perspective. It also adds support for Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, which is a neat perk.
If you’re willing to wait, however, the first numbered Limited Run Games release for Switch 2 is High on Life. And unlike the sequel, the full game will be on the card. The downside is that preorders don’t open until February 1, and LRG currently estimates a July-September shipping window.
For Switch 2 owners, however, there is a downside to the free upgrade path. As previously noted, High on Life’s Switch 2 edition is 30.5GB. Meanwhile, the original Switch version is only 9.7GB. So even though the Upgrade Pack is 3MB, you’ll need to download approximately 21GB of data. The Switch physical edition is effectively partial Game-Key Card for Switch 2 players.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches this Thursday, January 15, for Nintendo Switch 2. New players and big fans who want a brand-new physical edition with Switch 2 box art can preorder a copy of New Horizons for $65 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop. Prime members can still get free release-day delivery as of January 13.
New Horizons is the first Nintendo Switch 2 game published by Nintendo with a $65 MSRP. As a result of the unusual price, owners of the original game–in physical or digital format–can purchase the Switch 2 Upgrade Pack for only $5 from the eShop or a major retailer such as Amazon.
The physical edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Switch 2 includes the full game on the card, which saves you approximately 10.8GB of storage space compared to the digital edition from the eShop.
The Switch 2 version features performance and quality-of-life upgrades, including enhanced resolutions in docked and handheld modes as well as faster load times. Nintendo also added mouse controls for Joy-Con 2 and support for GameChat and CameraPlay when playing online with friends.
Speaking of online support, Nintendo is expanding the player count from eight to 12. Another new feature is the megaphone, as by using the Switch 2 microphone, you can call out to nearby residents and have them respond to you in kind.
The Switch 2 edition is launching alongside the free New Horizons 3.0 content update for players on both platforms. New features include Slumber Islands, the Resort Hotel facility, and even Lego furniture. If you help out Kapp’n and his family at the Resort Hotel, you can acquire retro Nintendo hardware and toys to decorate your home with.
Just like in the GameCube iteration of Animal Crossing, you will be able to play retro games inside your villager’s home–if you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo has confirmed support for Game Boy, NES, and SNES Switch Online games.
It’s worth noting that the official Animal Crossing: New Horizons strategy guide is still in print. Published by Future Press in June 2023, this 688-page hardcover guidebook is the most comprehensive resource available for Nintendo’s idyllic island life sim. While it naturally doesn’t cover the new content from the 3.0 update, it does detail everything els, including the Happy Home Paradise expansion. How Many Luigi Games Are on Switch?
There are 19 games on Switch that let you play as Luigi. He’s the main character in only two games (Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Luigi’s Mansion 3) and the co-lead in one (Mario & Luigi: Brothership).
Luigi’s first starring role on Switch was in Luigi’s Mansion 3, the third entry in the character’s only solo series to date. Luigi’s Mansion 3 sees our timid hero and his green gooey clone team up with Professor E. Gadd to battle ghosts and save his friends from King Boo’s haunted hotel.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (2024)
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a remake of the 2013 Nintendo 3DS game Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. This second game in the spooky series sees Luigi ghostbusting his way through the mansions of Evershade Valley to once again capture King Boo and save his brother.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2024)
Sure, it’s not exclusively a ‘Luigi game,’ but Mario & Luigi: Brothership certainly puts the brothers on even footing. Brothership is the first release in the Mario & Luigi series since Paper Jam in 2014. Players take on the role of both brothers, who must traverse puzzles and platforming challenges to restore the kingdom of Concordia.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (2017)
The first Switch game to feature Luigi as a playable character was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Luigi appears as a middleweight racer with a well-balanced stat distribution that slightly favors speed and handling. His appearance in an ad for the original Wii U version of Mario Kart 8 spawned the Luigi Death Stare meme.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (2017)
Luigi next appeared in the Nintendo-Ubisoft collaboration Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The tactical RPG features both Luigi and Rabbid Luigi, a Rabbid who dresses (and often behaves) like his human counterpart, as possible party members.
Mario Tennis Aces (2018)
Luigi hit the court as one of 16 playable launch characters in 2018’s Mario Tennis Aces. As is often true for Luigi in Mario sports games, he’s a balanced, “all-around” character in Aces. His specialty shot, Pipe Cannon, blasts him into the air to set him up for a powerful spike.
Super Mario Party (2018)
Luigi is one of 20 playable characters in Super Mario Party. The younger of the Mario Bros. has appeared alongside his brother in every Mario Party game to date, including the two others further down this list. This is the first Mario Party game released for Switch and Nintendo’s ninth best-selling game on the platform, according to the company.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018)
Luigi appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an unlockable character. He is one of 12 characters to be playable in all five Smash games. According to LumiRank’s tier list, which compiled the opinions of 93 ranked Smash players, Luigi is an A+-tier fighter and the 18th best overall.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (2019)
Luigi is a playable character in the 2019 platformer New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. This is an expanded version of NSMBU for Wii U that includes the expansion New Super Luigi U. Luigi stars as the main character in this expansion, which incorporates his higher jump, remixes levels from the base game, and adds a 100-second timer to each level.
Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
Alongside Mario, Toad, and Toadette, Luigi is one of four playable characters in Super Mario Maker 2. The level-building platformer allows players to create their own Mario levels using assets from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Super Mario 3D World.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (2021)
Like the original Wii U release, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury can be played entirely as Luigi. Here, he controls similarly to Mario, albeit with a slightly higher jump and slightly less traction, making him play a bit more ‘floaty’ and ‘slippery’ than his red-capped counterpart.
Mario Golf: Super Rush (2021)
Luigi hit the links with Mario and friends in Mario Golf: Super Rush. One of 22 playable characters, he boasts decent control and excellent speed stats, making him a great option for Super Rush’s new Speed Golf mode. His special shot, Ice Flower Freeze, freezes the ground upon the ball’s impact, creating a hazardous area for opponents.
Mario Party Superstars (2021)
Luigi returns for the second iteration of Mario Party on Switch: Mario Party Superstars. Unlike Super Mario Party before it, Superstars is not an original game but rather a modern collection of minigames, boards, and mechanics from the series’ past.
Mario Strikers: Battle League Football (2022)
Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, the latest Mario soccer/football game, features Luigi as one of 16 playable characters. Luigi is a well-balanced footballer who excels in technique, a skill that determines a character’s ability to dribble, curve their shot, and shoot accurately.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (2022)
Luigi (and Rabbid Luigi) returned for Ubisoft and Nintendo’s tactical sequel, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Luigi is labeled a Sneak Attacker due to his ranged weaponry and low health.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2023)
Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the latest 2D Mario platformer, features Luigi as a playable alternative to Mario. The difference between the two characters here is purely aesthetic, as the Mario Bros. play identically to one another.
Super Mario Party Jamboree (2024)
Unsurprisingly, Luigi is playable in Super Mario Party Jamboree, the biggest and arguably best game in Nintendo’s flagship party series. In addition to being a playable character, Luigi appears as part of Jamboree’s new Buddy mechanic, where he has the chance to change a player’s dice rolls from their initial numbers to 10s.
Mario Kart World (2025)
The latest game to let you play as Luigi is also the latest Mario Kart game. Mario Kart World is a Switch 2-exclusive that features double the usual amount of racers. Yes, that means 24 racers on each track. Logan Plant’s review for IGN goes so far as to claim the game features “unbeatable local multiplayer racing on well-designed tracks that more than live up to the series’ legacy.”
What’s Next for Luigi?
The Switch 2 has officially arrived, but there’s no word yet on future games in the Luigi series. I’m sure Mario will bring Luigi along for whatever his next adventure is, and we’re hoping that’s a new 3D Mario game.

In November 2017, Bethesda Softworks and port specialists Panic Button performed what seemed like a miracle: They released a Switch port for id Software’s recent reboot of Doom. The game, a famously fast-paced, intense shooter with modern graphics, seemed ill-suited to Nintendo’s handheld and its capabilities, but despite some visual blurriness and a reduction in the frame rate, the game held up well on the hybrid system. In GameSpot’s 8/10 review of the Switch port, Peter Brown praised the game as “an impressive port that begs you to consider gameplay over graphics.”
Doom was the first Switch “impossible port,” a colloquial term that players took to using whenever a third-party game designed for much more powerful hardware arrived on the Switch in pretty good shape. Over the course of the system’s lifespan, it would receive many more so-called impossible ports, including versions of Wolfenstein 2: The New Collossus, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, The Witcher 3, No Man’s Sky, and Ace Combat 7–large, visually-intensive, action-heavy games, all of them translated to the system with immaculate care. Seeing how the Switch handled these games was always exciting–even when the ports were less-than-ideal, there was still something special about seeing them run on a handheld from 2017.
Now Playing: Cyberpunk 2077 Is A Good Showcase For The Switch 2
Prior to the Switch 2’s launch this year, Nintendo, in typical fashion, did not tell us much about what the Switch 2 was capable of on a technical level. We knew that the new 7.9-inch 1080p screen was capable of displaying gameplay at up to 120fps and was HDR-compliant. Nvidia announced that the system’s custom chip would allow for DLSS, which is capable of upscaling games regardless of native resolution, and that the new system would be, of course, much more powerful than the old one. For early adopters, though, the system’s first six-plus months of availability has involved a lot of curiosity over what the system can and can’t do, speculating on what games the system could or couldn’t handle, and pondering just how close these ports can come to other console versions.
For many people picking the system up on day one, Mario Kart World was not the most exciting game on the system–it was Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, a heavily updated version of a game that was first released in 2020. Here was a game that absolutely would not have run in any form on the original Switch–one that, in fact, infamously struggled massively on the PS4 and Xbox One. At launch, the stability and playability of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition became something of a referendum on what sort of games we might see ported to Switch 2 in the future. If it can handle Cyberpunk, what else is possible?
Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 ended up being an excellent port, one that, despite some compromises, ran well and looked fantastic on Nintendo’s hybrid system–it was a considerable step up from The Witcher 3 on the original system, already a very impressive port. There were many strong Switch 2 ports of current-gen titles in 2025: Street Fighter 6, various Yakuza games, Cronos: The New Dawn, Apex Legends–and some weaker ones, including 30fps EA FC and NBA 2K experiences, Persona 3 Reload with its odd frame-pacing issues that cause noticeable stuttering, and a Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition port that is noticeably downgraded from the nearly 12-year-old PS4 version. It’s difficult not to approach these games not just as discrete products, but as indicators for what kind of life the Switch 2 is going to have–what do these games tell us about what this system is capable of?
I’ve tried to play as many of these ports as I can. Getting a new system and putting it through its paces is always exciting, and even games that obviously aren’t pushing the system very hard–like SpongeBob Squarepants: Titans of the Tide and Two Point Museum–show an obvious huge increase in fidelity compared to what the aging Switch 1 is capable of. Some of the games have surprised me–Ball X Pit got a significant boost when the Switch 2 version released, and the differences between the Switch and Switch 2 versions of Fantasy Life i are particularly pronounced. As someone who opted for the Switch for many indie and less technologically intensive titles, these upgrades are an exciting indicator of the experiences I’m likely to have over the next few years.
But the best port of the first year–and maybe the best example we have of what the system is capable of right now–is Star Wars Outlaws, handled by Ubisoft’s internal RedLynx team. The game, which launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2024, arrived on the Switch 2 in good shape and has since been patched and improved to a point where it holds up extremely well against other systems (and absolutely runs circles around the game’s performance on Steam Deck). It may not be a perfect game, but the arrival of the game on Switch 2 in such good shape was very exciting–if the system can do this in its first year, what sort of games can we expect to see ported effectively over the next few years, when developers have a better handle on the hardware?
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has put on a good showing too, although in my time with it the game suffered from several crashes and a particularly blurry presentation in handheld mode; it may be a few patches away from its ideal form yet. Like Star Wars and Cyberpunk before it, the game features cross-progression, meaning I could carry on my PS5 save with minimal fuss–a feature that should, hopefully, continue to incentivize studios to bring their games to Switch 2 alongside other consoles.
It’s likely that more significant ports will be announced in 2026, and we’ll learn more about what the system is capable of through those games. I was able to play a build of Elden Ring in portable mode at PAX Australia this year, and despite earlier reports of poor performance, the version I played ran well and looked fantastic; the game was delayed shortly thereafter, but there’s reason to be optimistic. There are many other games on the way: 007 First Light, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and other major ports should tell us more about what’s possible on Switch 2. For now, though, it’s fun to speculate and dream about the system’s future “impossible” ports.
CD Projekt has said huge discounts on Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition displayed on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop this week were a mistake, but it will honor any sales made at the discounted prices.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 went on sale with a whopping 75% off in the U.S. earlier this week, making the normally $69.99 game just $17.49. Making this deal all the more eye-catching is the fact the Ultimate Edition includes the DLC expansion Phantom Liberty. This DLC normally costs around $30 (or around $21 with a discount), which meant the base game plus the DLC was cheaper than the DLC itself if you bought it with the discount. As you’d expect, plenty of people bought the game at that price. “I couldn’t believe it lmfao,” one fan said. “I bought as soon as I saw the price. I had been waiting for it to go on sale but was amazed at the discount.” Said another: “I was on the fence for a few hours, and would have skipped it if it was $20. So they got money out of people like me who weren’t super interested. Bought it on PC years ago and barely started it. Hoping the switch 2 edition/cross save gets me to finish the game.”
Now, CD Projekt has corrected the discount so Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition costs $39.99 (a 42% discount). The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition, meanwhile, now costs $14.99 with a 75% discount properly applied.
CD Projekt issued the following statement on social media:
The discounts for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition displayed on Nintendo Switch 2 eShop in the Americas on December 22, 2025 were incorrect.
The situation is a result of an error we made when submitting the discount. We have corrected the error and new discounts have now been applied.
Purchases made at the previous discount rate are unaffected by this change.
As you’d expect, CD Projekt’s statement is going down well with fans of the company and its games, and in particular with those who jumped on the discount error before it was corrected. “At that price it’s basically a no-brainer impulse buy.
