Hori Mario Kart Racing Wheels for Nintendo Switch
While we haven’t been able to 100% confirm support for Switch 2, Nintendo has stated that the upcoming console is backward compatible with many original Switch accessories. The Switch 2 Dock has two USB-A ports, so you should be able to use Hori’s wheels to play Mario Kart World. Wired and Bluetooth Switch controllers are supposed to work just fine on Switch 2, and this should especially be true when dealing with officially licensed accessories like Hori’s Mario Kart wheels.
We have reached out to Hori to confirm Switch 2 compatibility and will update this story if we hear back. Just know that there is a chance neither wheel will work on Switch 2. We’d be very surprised, but until we test it for ourselves or receive official confirmation, we can’t be fully sure about any potentially backward compatible accessory.
The Pro Deluxe model is a full-sized steering wheel with a dark red and black color scheme. It has textured grips, a sturdy base, a pair of pedals, and conveniently placed inputs located in the general area where your hands naturally rest. The ZR and ZL triggers are on the rounded part of the wheel, while the face buttons, D-pad, and various menu inputs run across the middle. Beyond the larger size and more premium feel, the biggest additional perk is the inclusion of removable paddles. The paddles, along with the ZR and ZL trigger placement, allow you to play Mario Kart and other racing games without needing to alter your hand position to press buttons.
The Pro Mini’s color scheme is based on the shades of red and blue found on Mario’s iconic outfit. Like the larger Pro Deluxe, it has a Mario logo in the center and various buttons around it, including a D-pad, four face buttons, and menu buttons. The four triggers/bumpers are also located in the center as yellow buttons. The Pro Mini doesn’t have the textured wheel cover or detachable paddles found on the pricier option, but you’ll still get a pair of peddles for accelerating and braking.
Mario Kart World is the first open-world game in series history and the biggest launch game for Switch 2. It’s available to preorder for $80 at multiple retailers, but you won’t need to buy it separately if you manage to secure a preorder for the Mario Kart World Switch 2 Bundle. Unfortunately, Switch 2 preorders sold out fast when they opened on April 24, and it’s unclear if and when restocks will happen before the console arrives next month.
Marseille’s mClassic graphics upscalers for retro and modern game consoles are on sale for $80 each for Amazon Gaming Week. This deal matches the all-time lowest price for the original edition and sets a new best-ever price for the recently released specialty versions. The mClassic Switch Edition is tailored around upscaling the visuals on Switch and other widescreen platforms like Steam Deck. The mClassic Retro Edition, meanwhile, is designed for gamers who want to improve the visual experience of older games originally designed for 4:3 aspect ratio displays on modern HD and 4K TVs.
The original mClassic Graphics Upscaler is still being manufactured–and it’s also on sale for $80 (was $100)–as it offers a hybrid experience with visual improvements for modern and retro games. The new iterations offer the same marquee enhancement modes while adding two new visual modes each. Let’s take a closer look at all three options below.
The original mClassic Graphics Upscaler offers a combination of the two recently released specialty editions. It has features and modes designed for games that render in 16:9 aspect ratio (widescreen) as well as tech created to enhance the picture quality and performance of retro games developed for 4:3 aspect ratio TVs.
The mClassic offers noticeable visual upgrades–though the degree to which you notice the differences depends on how discerning you are when it comes to graphics. Switch games can be upscaled up to 1440p at 60fps. It has built-in anti-aliasing tech that smooths jagged edges and sharpens the picture. The exact boost in visual fidelity varies based on the game, in our experience.
On consoles with HDMI such as Switch, PS3, and Xbox 360 (besides first-gen 360 consoles), all you need to do is plug it into your console, connect the included power cable, and then reconnect your HDMI cable from your TV into the mClassic dongle.
The mClassic substantially improves the overall picture quality and playability of game consoles from the pre-HD era–Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, etc.–on modern flat-screen 4K and HD TVs. A CRT TV is still clearly the best option for retro gaming, but the mClassic is a great option for those who don’t want to deal with the bulk of a box TV or the hassle of finding one in general.
There’s a switch on the dongle to flip between modern and retro modes. The third “mode” on the original mClassic simply turns the device’s graphics processor off.
Enhancement On: Improves the visuals/performance of widescreen platforms, including Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck.
Retro Mode: Allows you to play retro games in 4:3 aspect ratio on modern displays. Markedly improves the picture quality of games originally designed for CRT TVs.
Note: Game consoles without an HDMI port–like the aforementioned retro Nintendo consoles–require the mClassic to be connected to an adapter, such as this $30 model or this one for $24.
The mClassic Switch Edition focuses solely on modern gaming platforms with widescreen aspect ratios (16:9). When it comes to modern HD consoles, Marseille has always geared the mClassic toward the Switch, which is why Nintendo’s console is in the new model’s name. But the mClassic Switch Edition can be used with Steam Deck, PS3, Xbox 360, and other devices with widescreen aspect ratios that lack 1440p and/or 4K resolution.
Once again, performance on Switch varies by game, but the mClassic Switch Edition is capable of upscaling to 1440p at 60fps.
You can toggle between three different visual modes on the mClassic Switch Edition:
Enhancement On: This mode offers all of the same benefits as the “Enhancement On” mode in the original mClassic.
Switch Plus: Recreates Switch handheld mode while playing on TV. If you think Switch games look better in handheld mode–and you aren’t alone in thinking that–this mode might be preferred over the original enhancement mode.
Switch Enhance Mode: This mode aims to offer some of the key benefits of OLED TVs, namely improved contrast and clarity when dark colors are displayed.
The new mClassic Retro Edition has three different modes geared toward consoles that released prior to the high-definition era. If you are buying the mClassic to play games on SNES, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64 or any other console designed for 4:3 aspect ratio, the Retro Edition is the one to pick.
It has three modes you can switch between:
Retro Mode: Display games in original 4:3 aspect ratio with upscaled resolution.
Vintage Mode: Replicates CRT TV picture and audio in 4:3 aspect ratio. This mode does not alter the colors, lighting, or sound, as it’s geared toward authenticity.
Vintage Enhance Mode: A mix of Retro and Vintage Modes, as it balances authenticity with visual fidelity improvements.
Note: Game consoles without an HDMI port–like the aforementioned retro Nintendo consoles–require the mClassic Original or mClassic Retro to be connected to an adapter, such as this $30 model or this one for $24.
Marseille recommends locking your Nintendo Switch to 720p while docked–the resolution for handheld mode–for the best results. Based on our testing, we agree with that recommendation, but don’t forget to turn 1080p back on before you play without the mClassic Original or mClassic Switch.
If you’re worried about an increase in latency due to your HDMI cable passing through the dongle, we’ve never noticed any. Marseille claims the device adds an average of 0.2ms on this front, but you’d probably need to be a cyborg to notice. The mClassic also has lossless audio passthrough.
Keep in mind you also need to be playing on a TV or monitor with support for 1440p or 4K resolution to take full advantage of the mClassic’s features. However, if you are playing on a 1080p panel, the mClassic still offers an improvement in picture quality.
Have you won the battle to secure a Nintendo Switch 2 preorder? Well, now it’s time to set your sights on the new Pro Controller, which is also available starting today. It’s currently orderable via Target, Walmart, Gamestop, and Best Buy for $84.99 with a release date of June 5. Just like the Switch 2 console itself, we expect this item to become much harder to find and possibly more expensive if tariffs go back up, so this may very well be the best opportunity to secure one.
It’s important to note that the original Switch Pro controller is, for the most part, still compatible with the new Switch 2. However, the new Pro controller brings a host of improvements to the table, including:
The only disadvantage is that the Switch 2 Pro controller is not backwards compatible with the original Switch console. However, if you prefer a gamepad-style controller over the Joy-Con for the Switch 2, then there isn’t any other controller you can order that will match the Pro controller’s ergonomics and functionality. It’s also nice that supply seems to be pretty stable at the moment, although that might not be the case forever.

Nintendo Switch 2 preorders are now available if you can find it in stock. Major US retailers like Walmart and Target kicked things off at midnight on April 24, along with every official Switch 2 game and accessory, followed up by GameStop the next morning.
So what’s the latest stock update? At the time of publication, we’re still getting reports of Walmart restocking in waves. While it looks to be region-dependent, so YMMV, it’s still worth trying your luck there.
If you can’t get through to checkout, try bookmarking the page and checking again every few hours daily. You could also try changing your location or region to a friend or family who you trust, to see if Walmart will deliver there instead.
Switch 2 preorders are out of stock everywhere else in the US, at least for now. But, it’s not yet time to lose hope of securing the console before launch day.
GameStop is out of stock online, but in-store preorders are still available. Moreover, the retailer also issued a statement saying it is currently cancelling bot orders, and plans to reopen its Switch 2 preorder inventory again soon.

For those who already own the games, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will cost $9.99 to upgrade from the original Switch 1 game to Switch 2 (or for free if you’ve already purchased the base game and are a Nintendo Online subscriber).
While Nintendo has also quietly confirmed the cost of upgrading Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree to Switch 2: It’s £16.99 / €19.99 / $19.99.
Nintendo hasn’t touched the price of the Switch 2 console itself, but almost every accessory has crept up in cost. In a recent update, the company confirmed that several Switch 2 peripherals will “experience price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes in market conditions.” Read: Tariffs mean that pretty much everything is a little more expensive now.
Expect to pay an extra $5 for the main accessories, including the new Joy-Con 2 controllers, the Switch 2 Pro Controller, and the much-hyped camera add-on. The Dock Set sees the biggest jump, climbing $10 to $119.99.
Still, if you’re planning to pick up the full ecosystem at launch, above is the full list of accessories currently up for preorder, price hike or not, alongside every retailer you can preorder from just below as well.

Switch 2: Latest News Updates
It’s been a chaotic few weeks for anyone in the U.S. trying to preorder the Nintendo Switch 2. Following a Switch 2-focused Nintendo Direct in early April, Nintendo was expected to open preorders on April 9.
But without much warning, the company delayed the rollout across the U.S. and Canada, citing the lingering effects of Trump-era tariffs and what it vaguely referred to as “evolving market conditions.”
“However, this number far exceeds our expectations, and far exceeds the number of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles that can be delivered from the My Nintendo Store on June 5th. Therefore, unfortunately, we expect that a significant number of customers will not be selected when the winners are announced tomorrow, April 24th.”
Walmart is still honoring most orders but has quietly updated delivery estimates, pushing some as far back as June 10 — despite originally promising delivery on launch day before 9 am.
Preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have officially gone live — and predictably, most listings sold out within minutes.
But if you missed the first wave, it’s worth knowing what each retailer had on offer, how they’re handling delivery and pickup, and what to expect if restocks drop or you’re eyeing a launch-day pickup.

Walmart: Fastest delivery promise — June 5 by 9am — if you ordered early enough.

Walmart
Walmart made the biggest splash with its delivery promise: orders placed before launch day were scheduled to arrive by 9am local time on June 5. That’s an unusually aggressive guarantee, and unsurprisingly, stock vanished quickly. Interestingly, Walmart also undercut competitors slightly by listing the console at $499 flat, versus the standard $499.99 elsewhere.
Keep an eye out — if they restock closer to launch, expect more rapid sellouts.
GameStop
GameStop leaned hard into the launch day hype. Select stores will host midnight pickups, giving fans a chance to get their hands on the console the moment it drops. In-store preorders began when stores opened on April 24, while online orders went live at 11am EST the same day.
If you preordered in-store, you’re likely locked in for launch day — but if you missed it, midnight event availability could vary by location.
Target
Target’s preorders quietly opened online at midnight (EST) on April 24, with no in-store preorder options offered. Stock was thin, but they’ve done a solid job supporting the full ecosystem: games, accessories, and new Amiibo figures are all up for preorder.
If you’re still building your setup, this is one of the better places to look.
Best Buy
Best Buy also opened online preorders at 12am EST on April 24, and confirmed plans for midnight launch events at select stores. Details are still rolling out on which locations are participating.
One standout: Best Buy listed multiple Switch 2 bundles and accessory packages, offering a practical solution for those trying to grab everything at once. Stock sold out fast online, but there’s a good chance bundles might return with limited restocks before June 5.
My Nintendo Store
Nintendo is using a registration-based preorder system via its official store. Priority access will be granted to Switch Online members with 12+ months of paid membership and 50+ gameplay hours as of April 2, 2025.
Invites are going out on a rolling, first-come-first-served basis from May 8 — so if you haven’t signed up yet, it might be too late for launch day, but worth registering in case post-launch inventory becomes available.
Switch 2 Preorders: What About Amazon?
The biggest question mark, however, is Amazon. As of this writing, the retail giant has no official listings for the Switch 2 — not the console, not its accessories, and only a few select games.
This isn’t an isolated case; over the past year, Nintendo products have quietly disappeared from Amazon’s U.S. storefront, including staples like Switch Online memberships and digital game codes.
Whether this signals a behind-the-scenes distribution snag or a strategic shift is unclear, but for now, it leaves would-be buyers without one of the most convenient ordering options.

Here’s what Logan Plant had to say in IGN’s Nintendo Switch 2 preview: “Switch 2 is a more premium product and the price tag reflects that. It’s also a better version of a great thing, and it’s trying to pull off a bunch of cool new tricks at the same time, like mouse controls.
“Obviously we’re both buying Switch 2 on day one, and I did really love our hands-on time with the console. But I’ll be honest and say I have some concerns about if the general public is willing to adopt a $450 Nintendo console with an $80 Mario Kart.
“It’s a big ask for a company that traditionally targets families and younger players, and I feel like the high cost of entry limits the Switch 2’s potential to take off in the way its predecessor did.
“But for those of you that do decide to take the plunge, you’ll be getting what’s shaping up to be a great hybrid console that makes a ton of worthwhile improvements on the original Switch and adds some fun bells and whistles for good measure.”

PSA: Donkey Kong Bananza doesn’t hit shelves until July 17, and big names like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends: Z-A, both releasing this year, are still missing from preorder listings entirely on both Switch 2 and the current model.

When Nintendo Switch 2 preorders opened on April 24, some interested buyers undoubtedly found themselves searching Amazon, wondering why in the world the biggest online retailer in the US seemed to forget about a new Nintendo console. But the Switch 2’s absence from Amazon was an expected continuation of a story that has been unfolding over the past year. Amazon simply doesn’t carry first-party Nintendo products these days, which means you’ll only find third-party games and accessories for the upcoming console on Amazon’s storefront.
No Switch 2 preorders at Amazon? No surprise there.
If you regularly buy first-party Nintendo Switch games, the Switch 2’s absence on Amazon’s US storefront probably wasn’t too surprising. To be clear, this article is specifically about Amazon in the US. Amazon UK, for instance, still carries Nintendo products, including the Switch 2.
At first, Amazon wasn’t the only major retailer to not offer first-party Nintendo games. Walmart’s online storefront experienced the same shift–though brick-and-mortar stores still stocked Nintendo games on launch day. Later in the year, Walmart started selling Nintendo exclusives online in the days leading up to a game’s launch. Everything with Walmart and Nintendo returned to normal this year, which is why the Switch 2 and all of its Nintendo-made games and accessories are available at Walmart.
Why did Amazon stop carrying first-party Nintendo products?
Sorry, Mario, you can’t preorder the Switch 2 at Amazon.
The short answer is: No one knows for sure, but Amazon almost certainly wants to sell Nintendo products. Neither Nintendo nor Amazon has offered a reason for the dissolution of their retail partnership, but we have a theory based on the fact that Amazon and Walmart were the only retailers impacted by Nintendo stock woes last year. Both retailers have a history of offering discounts on Nintendo games and accessories outside of official Nintendo sales. As in, Switch games were often discounted for long stretches of time, to the point that getting a $10 discount on a first-party game felt like the norm. Ever since Walmart’s Nintendo situation reversed course, most of the first-party game deals we see there are sold by third parties.
Today, you can find the aforementioned 2024 Nintendo games on Amazon, but they are third-party listings that pop up at launch. You’ll also find a wide selection of region-free Nintendo games on Woot, an Amazon-owned discount shop. Woot has made a habit of listing Nintendo’s games on launch day with $10 discounts. This practice didn’t start until after Amazon stopped selling Nintendo games, so read into that as you see fit. And we’ll have to wait and see if the trend continues when the Switch 2 launches on June 5.
Amazon will still carry licensed Nintendo products
The only Nintendo products you can’t find on Amazon–shipped and sold by the retailer–are consoles, games, and accessories published by Nintendo. Beyond the Switch 2 console and Mario Kart World console bundle, this includes accessories like the new Pro Controller, Joy-Con 2, official carrying cases, Switch 2 Camera, and Amiibo.
This distinction is also why we continue to see new Lego Super Mario sets and Little Buddy plushies on Amazon. These sorts of products are created in collaboration with Nintendo, but they are not released by Nintendo. Amazon’s “missing” Nintendo products are strictly in the gaming category.
Editor’s Note: Since Amazon and Nintendo have not commented on the situation, we have no way of knowing when the retailer will sell first-party Nintendo hardware and games again. But as of April 25, we have no reason to believe things will change soon, especially since a year has passed since Amazon stopped carrying Nintendo first-party games.

We’re keeping a running list of Nintendo Switch 2 games and accessories sold by Amazon. So far, the game list is the most expansive, but we expect more accessories, officially licensed or not, to appear on Amazon in the coming weeks and after launch.
Thanks to backward compatibility, there are also many Switch 2-compatible accessories to be found on Amazon. You also might find a good deal on accessories that aren’t technically designed specifically for Switch 2, such as a microSD Express Card at Amazon or USB-C hub.
Nintendo Switch 2 Games at Amazon
Several of the Switch 2’s biggest third-party launch games are up for preorder at Amazon, including Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman: World of Assassination, and Yakuza 0. You can also preorder titles releasing this summer, including Madden NFL 26 and Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion.
Officially Licensed Switch 2 Accessories at Amazon

At this time, the only officially licensed Nintendo Switch 2 accessory we’ve seen at Amazon is the Piranha Plant Camera, but we expect more to be added soon.
The list of Switch 2-compatible controllers sold on Amazon is massive (hundreds, if not thousands), but we’re highlighting two especially notable options here. 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller for Switch released earlier this month. This terrific pro-style controller has four extra remappable buttons, adjustable trigger locks, TMR electromagnetic analog sticks (better than Hall Effect), three custom profiles, and varied internal customization options. It should work with Switch 2 via Bluetooth out of the box, and it’s also possible the included USB-C dongle will be compatible for 2.4GHz Wireless.
The Switch 2 Pro Controller has two remappable back buttons, but as you can see above, 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2 has a bunch of additional features. It also happens to be $15 cheaper at retail price, but Amazon is offering a 10% discount at the time of writing.
The other controller is an interesting pick for those who don’t like the form factor of Nintendo’s Joy-Con Controllers. GameSir’s G8 Plus is a Bluetooth controller that cradles the Nintendo Switch or iOS/Android devices with screen sizes of up to 8.5 inches. The Switch 2 has a 7.9-inch screen, so there’s no reason why this pro-style controller shouldn’t be compatible with Nintendo’s new console.
Amazon has yet to list Samsung’s officially licensed 256GB microSD Express Card, but you can find options from SanDisk and Lexar on Amazon. The Switch 2 only supports the Express format, which are high-performing and pricey. Plus, this is a new technology, so there are very few options available today. Amazon tends to be one of the best retailers for deals on storage devices, but microSD Express Cards at Amazon have yet to receive meaningful discounts.
Madden is returning to a Nintendo console for the first time in over a decade when it lands on Switch 2 this August. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Madden NFL 26 is now available to preorder at Amazon and Walmart for $70, the same price that you’ll find preorders for on PS5 and Xbox Series X. In addition to the standard edition, Madden 26 will get a Digital Deluxe Edition and MVP Bundle, with the latter offering access to EA Sports College Football 26 on PS5 or Xbox Series, too.
The return of simulation football to a Nintendo console isn’t the only major change to the release model of EA Sports’ popular annual sim; Madden 26 won’t be playable on PS4 or Xbox One for the first time since Madden NFL 13. Ironically, Madden 13 was the last game in the series to appear on a Nintendo console (Wii U).
Here’s a look at all Madden NFL 26 preorders–as more retailers open inventory, we’ll update this list accordingly.

Preorder this version of Madden NFL 26 to get the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses. We’re still waiting to learn more about the changes coming to this year’s installment of the hit series, but expect the usual assortment of graphical updates, gameplay tweaks, and improvements to Ultimate Team, Franchise, and Superstar modes.
Physical edition preorders for Madden NFL 26 on Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X are live at Amazon and Walmart for $70.
Like most third-party titles for Switch 2, Madden 26 is a Game-Key Card, which means a download will be required to play the game at launch.

The 3-days early access is the big draw here, though there are plenty of in-game goodies to give your career a nice jumpstart. You can preorder digital versions on the PS Store, Xbox Store, and Steam (the Switch 2 version is not yet available to preorder).
Get Madden NFL 26 Deluxe Edition and EA Sports College Football Deluxe Edition for just $150. That’s a $50 discount compared to buying them individually, so give the MVP Bundle a look if you plan on picking up both football games later this year. Here’s a look at what you’ll get for preordering.
