You can score Capcom’s massive RPG for just $30 this weekend at Amazon. We gave the game an 8/10 in our review, stating, “It is a retelling and reimplementation of all of those wonderful ideas from the 2012 cult-classic, including an awesome dynamic world and some of the best combat in the genre that integrates a subtle but amazingly complex physics system.”
You can save $10 off the PS5 version of Resident Evil 3 this weekend at Amazon. In our 9/10 review, we wrote, “Resident Evil 3 is a wonderful continuation of Capcom’s latest remake efforts. Although its just-okay multiplayer mode falls short of the bar set by its magnificent single-player campaign, the latter does such a good job at balancing 2020 gameplay and a classic Resident Evil tone that I recommend it without reservations.”
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii for $49.99
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – PlayStation 4
The latest Like a Dragon game stars everyone’s favorite ex-yakuza, Goro Majima, on an adventure to sail the seas as a pirate. When Majima wakes up unable to remember anything about himself, he embarks on a quest to regain his memories, and of course, in true Like a Dragon fashion, things get crazy. This is the lowest we’ve seen this game so far, so be sure to pick up a copy while you can.
Star Wars Outlaws Limited Edition for $29.12
Star Wars Outlaws – Limited Edition (Amazon Exclusive), Xbox Series X
Finally, Star Wars Outlaws for Xbox Series X is on sale for $29.12 at Amazon. We gave the game a 7/10 in our review, writing, “Star Wars Outlaws is a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it’s hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch.”
When Nintendo Switch 2 preorders opened on April 24, some interested buyers undoubtedly found themselves searching Amazon, wondering why in the world the biggest online retailer in the US seemed to forget about a new Nintendo console. But the Switch 2’s absence from Amazon was an expected continuation of a story that has been unfolding over the past year. Amazon simply doesn’t carry first-party Nintendo products these days, which means you’ll only find third-party games and accessories for the upcoming console on Amazon’s storefront.
No Switch 2 preorders at Amazon? No surprise there.
If you regularly buy first-party Nintendo Switch games, the Switch 2’s absence on Amazon’s US storefront probably wasn’t too surprising. To be clear, this article is specifically about Amazon in the US. Amazon UK, for instance, still carries Nintendo products, including the Switch 2.
At first, Amazon wasn’t the only major retailer to not offer first-party Nintendo games. Walmart’s online storefront experienced the same shift–though brick-and-mortar stores still stocked Nintendo games on launch day. Later in the year, Walmart started selling Nintendo exclusives online in the days leading up to a game’s launch. Everything with Walmart and Nintendo returned to normal this year, which is why the Switch 2 and all of its Nintendo-made games and accessories are available at Walmart.
Why did Amazon stop carrying first-party Nintendo products?
Sorry, Mario, you can’t preorder the Switch 2 at Amazon.
The short answer is: No one knows for sure, but Amazon almost certainly wants to sell Nintendo products. Neither Nintendo nor Amazon has offered a reason for the dissolution of their retail partnership, but we have a theory based on the fact that Amazon and Walmart were the only retailers impacted by Nintendo stock woes last year. Both retailers have a history of offering discounts on Nintendo games and accessories outside of official Nintendo sales. As in, Switch games were often discounted for long stretches of time, to the point that getting a $10 discount on a first-party game felt like the norm. Ever since Walmart’s Nintendo situation reversed course, most of the first-party game deals we see there are sold by third parties.
Today, you can find the aforementioned 2024 Nintendo games on Amazon, but they are third-party listings that pop up at launch. You’ll also find a wide selection of region-free Nintendo games on Woot, an Amazon-owned discount shop. Woot has made a habit of listing Nintendo’s games on launch day with $10 discounts. This practice didn’t start until after Amazon stopped selling Nintendo games, so read into that as you see fit. And we’ll have to wait and see if the trend continues when the Switch 2 launches on June 5.
Amazon will still carry licensed Nintendo products
The only Nintendo products you can’t find on Amazon–shipped and sold by the retailer–are consoles, games, and accessories published by Nintendo. Beyond the Switch 2 console and Mario Kart World console bundle, this includes accessories like the new Pro Controller, Joy-Con 2, official carrying cases, Switch 2 Camera, and Amiibo.
This distinction is also why we continue to see new Lego Super Mario sets and Little Buddy plushies on Amazon. These sorts of products are created in collaboration with Nintendo, but they are not released by Nintendo. Amazon’s “missing” Nintendo products are strictly in the gaming category.
Editor’s Note: Since Amazon and Nintendo have not commented on the situation, we have no way of knowing when the retailer will sell first-party Nintendo hardware and games again. But as of April 25, we have no reason to believe things will change soon, especially since a year has passed since Amazon stopped carrying Nintendo first-party games.
Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories at Amazon
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Hitman: World of Assassination Signature Edition
We’re keeping a running list of Nintendo Switch 2 games and accessories sold by Amazon. So far, the game list is the most expansive, but we expect more accessories, officially licensed or not, to appear on Amazon in the coming weeks and after launch.
Thanks to backward compatibility, there are also many Switch 2-compatible accessories to be found on Amazon. You also might find a good deal on accessories that aren’t technically designed specifically for Switch 2, such as a microSD Express Card at Amazon or USB-C hub.
Nintendo Switch 2 Games at Amazon
Several of the Switch 2’s biggest third-party launch games are up for preorder at Amazon, including Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman: World of Assassination, and Yakuza 0. You can also preorder titles releasing this summer, including Madden NFL 26 and Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion.
Officially Licensed Switch 2 Accessories at Amazon
Hori Piranha Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2
At this time, the only officially licensed Nintendo Switch 2 accessory we’ve seen at Amazon is the Piranha Plant Camera, but we expect more to be added soon.
The list of Switch 2-compatible controllers sold on Amazon is massive (hundreds, if not thousands), but we’re highlighting two especially notable options here. 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller for Switch released earlier this month. This terrific pro-style controller has four extra remappable buttons, adjustable trigger locks, TMR electromagnetic analog sticks (better than Hall Effect), three custom profiles, and varied internal customization options. It should work with Switch 2 via Bluetooth out of the box, and it’s also possible the included USB-C dongle will be compatible for 2.4GHz Wireless.
The Switch 2 Pro Controller has two remappable back buttons, but as you can see above, 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2 has a bunch of additional features. It also happens to be $15 cheaper at retail price, but Amazon is offering a 10% discount at the time of writing.
The other controller is an interesting pick for those who don’t like the form factor of Nintendo’s Joy-Con Controllers. GameSir’s G8 Plus is a Bluetooth controller that cradles the Nintendo Switch or iOS/Android devices with screen sizes of up to 8.5 inches. The Switch 2 has a 7.9-inch screen, so there’s no reason why this pro-style controller shouldn’t be compatible with Nintendo’s new console.
Amazon has yet to list Samsung’s officially licensed 256GB microSD Express Card, but you can find options from SanDisk and Lexar on Amazon. The Switch 2 only supports the Express format, which are high-performing and pricey. Plus, this is a new technology, so there are very few options available today. Amazon tends to be one of the best retailers for deals on storage devices, but microSD Express Cards at Amazon have yet to receive meaningful discounts.
Madden is returning to a Nintendo console for the first time in over a decade when it lands on Switch 2 this August. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Madden NFL 26 is now available to preorder at Amazon and Walmart for $70, the same price that you’ll find preorders for on PS5 and Xbox Series X. In addition to the standard edition, Madden 26 will get a Digital Deluxe Edition and MVP Bundle, with the latter offering access to EA Sports College Football 26 on PS5 or Xbox Series, too.
The return of simulation football to a Nintendo console isn’t the only major change to the release model of EA Sports’ popular annual sim; Madden 26 won’t be playable on PS4 or Xbox One for the first time since Madden NFL 13. Ironically, Madden 13 was the last game in the series to appear on a Nintendo console (Wii U).
Here’s a look at all Madden NFL 26 preorders–as more retailers open inventory, we’ll update this list accordingly.
Preorder Madden NFL 26’s standard edition to get the MUT Cover Athlete Elite Player Item, Franchise Coach Ability Points, and Super Star Legendary XP Boost. There are a few other preorder bonuses when reserving the Deluxe Edition or MVP Edition, and we’ll cover these below.
Preorder this version of Madden NFL 26 to get the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses. We’re still waiting to learn more about the changes coming to this year’s installment of the hit series, but expect the usual assortment of graphical updates, gameplay tweaks, and improvements to Ultimate Team, Franchise, and Superstar modes.
Physical edition preorders for Madden NFL 26 on Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X are live at Amazon and Walmart for $70.
Like most third-party titles for Switch 2, Madden 26 is a Game-Key Card, which means a download will be required to play the game at launch.
Preorder the Deluxe Edition to get the base game plus the following:
3-Days Early Access
4600 MUT Points
Early Access Solo Challenges
Season 1 Elite Player Item
Player Card Exclusive Item
MUT Cover Athlete Elite Player Item
Franchise Coach Ability Points
Super Star Legendary XP Boost
The 3-days early access is the big draw here, though there are plenty of in-game goodies to give your career a nice jumpstart. You can preorder digital versions on the PS Store, Xbox Store, and Steam (the Switch 2 version is not yet available to preorder).
Get Madden NFL 26 Deluxe Edition and EA Sports College Football Deluxe Edition for just $150. That’s a $50 discount compared to buying them individually, so give the MVP Bundle a look if you plan on picking up both football games later this year. Here’s a look at what you’ll get for preordering.

MLB The Show 25 is on sale for a big discount at Amazon just one month after launch. Sports fans can save $20 on Sony San Diego Studio’s annual baseball sim for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. The PlayStation and Xbox editions are up for grabs for $50 (was $70), while the Switch version is down to $40 (was $60). Since it just released on March 18, this is unsurprisingly the best deal so far on MLB The Show 25.
Our MLB The Show 25 review gave it an impressive 8/10, praising it for improving the Road to the Show mode, creating an engaging free agency system, and making a few tweaks to gameplay that make fielding more enjoyable. Note that the Switch version does not support custom stadiums, and its graphics aren’t quite as impressive. But beyond that, they’re essentially the same game. Regardless of which platform you’re playing on, this current deal makes it a mighty enticing offer.
The latest MLB season began on March 18, when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs played in the Tokyo Series–though most other teams just started a few weeks ago on March 27. So if your team is already falling behind the count (or you need something to bide time between games), MLB The Show 25 is an easy recommendation.
If you’re looking for some cool MLB merch, last year’s MLB The Show 24: Negro Leagues Edition is available for $34.50 on Xbox Series X. It comes with a copy of MLB The Show 24 as well as a display-worthy steelbook case and New Era baseball cap.

When Nintendo announced price increases for first-party Switch 2 accessories, the upcoming slate of The Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter Amiibo were left unmentioned. At the time, many probably assumed that the seven Amiibo figures launching alongside the Switch 2 on June 5 would retain their originally announced prices. After all, those prices were already higher than we’ve come to expect for Amiibo. But it turns out that Amiibo figures are receiving the biggest price increases.
Retailers including Walmart and GameStop have updated listings for the new Zelda and Street Fighter Amiibo figures. Each one is $10 more than its initial list price, which is tied for the highest increase with the Switch 2 Dock Set. That said, the Switch 2 Dock Set increased from $110 to $120, and it’s only for users who want a second dock. The $10 price hike for Amiibo figures is a much higher percentage increase in comparison.
As a result of the price change, Tears of the Kingdom’s Champions Amiibo will cost $30 each. A fifth new Zelda Amiibo based on Mineru’s Construct is expected to launch later this year, but a price hasn’t been announced yet. Zelda Amiibo figures typically cost $16, though there are figures with $20 MSRPs such as Tears of the Kingdom’s Ganondorf.
Street Fighter 6’s Amiibo figures, meanwhile, will be sold for a staggering $40 each. This eyebrow-raising move means each figure is only $20 less than the game–and the game includes a bunch of free DLC. For another comparison: The previously released Ken and Ryu Smash Bros. Amiibo carry $16 retail prices. Neither figure is currently in print, but you can buy Ken and Ryu Amiibo for around $25 each from resellers.
This Amiibo depicts the young Rito, Tulin, with the powerful Great Eagle Bow. Aside from serving as a fun companion for your desk or game room, the Amiibo is compatible with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for cool in-game goodies, including exclusive fabric for the paraglider in Tears of the Kingdom.
Bring the Sage of Fire into your home with this sizable Amiibo. The President of YunoboCo is compatible with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, offering in-game extras and a special fabric for Link’s glider in the latter.
Sidon is the Sage of Water, and this Amiibo shows him wielding the Lightscale Trident that was passed down from Mipha. He’s also adorned with a bunch of flashy jewelry you’d expect as the son of royalty. Like the other Amiibo, this one is compatible with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
This Amiibo depicts the Sage of Lightning entering battle with her two trusty scimitars and breezy Gerudo garb. Once again, you’ll get some functionality with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, unlocking in-game like special paraglider fabric.
The defender of Chinatown strikes a pose with this flashy Amiibo, complete with a translucent blue background for added effect. The Amiibo can be scanned on Switch 2 to save your character outfits, control style, and button settings for the character, and you’ll unlock mystery bonuses for the upcoming Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6.
Luke is throwing a vicious uppercut in this Amiibo, which only looks more violent thanks to the dramatic orange effect flowing behind his fist. Like the Jamie Amiibo, this one gets you lots of functionality with Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2.
The aspiring ninja Kimberly comes to life with this Amiibo, as she’s shown bounding across the landscape–a trail of pink dust in her wake. Add the Amiibo to your collection to gain exclusive in-game content for Street Fighter 6 or save your settings to the Amiibo for quick transfer.
As mentioned, the other new Amiibo is for Mineru’s Construct. There’s no confirmed release date beyond “coming soon,” and a price is yet to be determined. It’s looking like it’ll be quite large, however, and it wouldn’t be surprising if it retailed for a higher price than the other four Champions.
Preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, and Street Fighter 6 will be available on April 24, too.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — $70 | June 5
Nintendo has tapped actor Paul Rudd to hype up the Nintendo Switch 2 in a brand new commercial that pays corny-yet-adorable homage to a beloved 90s commercial he did for the Super Nintendo.
The original commercial, which aired in 1991, shows Rudd in a long black jacket, beaded necklace, and really, uh, interesting hairdo stomping up to a drive-in movie theater, SNES in hand. He hooks it up and begins playing a number of favorites on the big screen: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, F-Zero, Sim City, and others, while a crowd of interested onlookers forms around him. The commercial ends with the famous SNES slogan: “Now you’re playing with power.”
Paul Rudd, from the new Nintendo Switch 2 commercial
In the new Nintendo Switch 2 commercial, Rudd is 34 years older but somehow looks…kind of the same? He’s still got the coat, and the necklace, and the hair. But this time, he stomps into a living room and hooks up a Nintendo Switch 2 to play with comedians Joe Lo Truglio and Jordan Carlos, as well as a kid that calls him “Uncle Paul.” They play Mario Kart World using the system’s new GameChat feature, and the others tease Rudd about his get-up and wacky 90s ad attitude, which includes the commercial lampshading a fog machine and a fan blowing to make the atmosphere look as intense as it did in the 90s. The commercial concludes with Rudd voicing that instead of playing with power, “Now we’re playing together.” The whole thing is cheesy as heck, but goes along with the bit and acknowledges the goofiness of the original commercial to what amounts to a pretty cute effect.
IGN had the pleasure of sitting down with Rudd to talk to him about his experience shooting a follow-up Nintendo hardware commercial over 30 years after his first crack at it. During our chat, we learned that Rudd suspects he was wearing his own beaded necklace in the original commercial, and that he kept playing Mario Kart World on the set in between takes. Unfortunately, he says, they didn’t let him take a Nintendo Switch 2 home with him. You can watch our full interview right here:
Rebekah Valentine is a senior reporter for IGN. You can find her posting on BlueSky @duckvalentine.bsky.social. Got a story tip? Send it to rvalentine@ign.com.
Nintendo shared the news on its website while also confirming Switch 2 accessories will “experience price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes in market conditions.” It also notes “adjustments to the price of any Nintendo product are also possible in the future depending on market conditions.”
Alongside the base console price remaining the same, Nintendo did confirm the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle will remain at $499.99 and pricing for both the physical and digital versions of Mario Kart World ($79.99) and Donkey Kong Bananza ($69.99) will not change at launch.
Nintendo also shared a list of pricing for the console, games, and accessories as of April 18, and you can check them out below;
Nintendo Switch 2 – $449.99
Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle – $499.99
Mario Kart World – $79.99
Donkey Kong Bananza – $69.99
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – $84.99
Joy-Con 2 Pair – $94.99
Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip – $39.99
Joy-Con 2 Strap – $13.99
Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set – $24.99
Nintendo Switch 2 Camera – $54.99
Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set – $119.99
Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector – $39.99
Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case – $84.99
Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter – $34.99
Samsung microSD Express Card – 256GB for Nintendo Switch 2 – $59.99
Nintendo had originally planned on opening pre-orders for Switch 2 on April 9, but it made the decision to delay them as it needed time to “assess the potential impact of tarrifs and evolving market conditions.”
Monster Hunter fans can save big on Capcom’s Pokemon-inspired spin-offs at Amazon and Walmart. Both retailers have Monster Hunter Stories Collection for Nintendo Switch marked down to only $30.64. The collection launched last June with a $60 MSRP, so you’re essentially saving 50% with this deal. If you’d rather Monster Hunter Stories Collection comes with the 2024 enhanced version of the original adventure as well as the 2021 sequel Wings of Ruin.
If you like Pokemon games, Capcom’s spin on monster-taming games is definitely worth checking out. This pair of turn-based RPGs are radically different from the mainline Monster Hunter franchise, but you’ll still get to spend time with some of the franchise’s best-known monsters. And you’re getting a lot of game for your money here. Both Monster Hunter Stories games are 30-40 hours, on the low end, and the plethora of optional content can double those figures.
Monster Hunter Stories Collection’s release coincided with the standalone launch of the enhanced port of the original game. Prior to last June, the original entry in the spin-off series was exclusive to 3DS and mobile. The updated console and PC edition features HD visuals, full English and Japanese voiceovers, and content from the 3DS version that didn’t make it into the mobile port. Alongside the games, Capcom added a Museum Mode filled with artwork and music.
Switch owners should know that only Monster Hunter Stories is included on the cartridge; Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a digital download from the eShop and requires roughly 14GB of storage space.
The sequel received a physical edition back when it first launched in 2021, so you can technically still get both Monster Hunter Stories games in true physical format, but it’ll cost you more. Wings of Ruin is out of print, so prices and availability fluctuate regularly. You can purchase a copy from a reseller at Amazon for around the same price as the collection.
The latest mainline entry in the series, Monster Hunter Wilds, launched in late February. PS5 and Xbox Series X players who haven’t picked up a copy yet can get the Steelbook Edition at Amazon for $75. This collectible edition, which only costs $5 more than the standard edition, was previously sold out at Amazon and other major retailers, but it’s available as of April 17.
